CMHC Eco Pods is home to the Sustainable Condo for 2008

Building on the success of the 2006-2007 series of shows for the Sustainable Condo in Toronto, the exhibit will remain in the city throughout 2008 within the CMHC Eco Pods at Exhibition Place.
The condo is part of a larger educational exhibit showcasing green technologies, a joint initiative in co-operation with Exhibition Place and the City of Toronto. The Eco Pods, in the former Exhibition Place Music Building, are located on Manitoba Drive just north of Queen Elizabeth Complex and west of the Go-Transit and TTC stops. The Sustainable Condo was re-launched at Exhibition Place November 29, 2007 in a holiday theme, decorated in a green, eco friendly manner with items such as trees, wreaths, eco gifts and eco candles. In 2008 staff from Roomy Home Interiors worked their magic to revamp many features and the overall look of the exhibit. Although the furnishings, technologies and interior design of the condo had changed several times since its creation in Vancouver in 2004, the recent makeover is by far the most impressive. Please visit the Video Tour section of this website to see and hear more about the condo’s latest look. From 2004-2007 more than 150,000 people visited the Sustainable Condo. The exhibit opened for the 2008 Interior Design Show and has been accessible to the public during other events (such as the Canada Day Weekend CHIN Picnic) and to groups through specially arranged tours. The Sustainable Condo will next be open to the public during the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE), August 15 – September 1, 2008. Private tours may also be arranged. To schedule a special tour of the Sustainable Condo please contact: Debbie Sanderson, Exhibition Place (Toronto, Canada): 416-263-3608
