Sustainable Urban Living – A Vision of the Future, Attainable Today

The Sustainable Condo is an educative travelling display that illustrates and promotes leading-edge sustainable building design, products, technologies, and systems.
As the majority of the world s population lives in cities, urban sustainability is becoming the main challenge of the 21st century. The Sustainable Condo is an educative travelling display that illustrates and promotes leading-edge sustainable building design, products, technologies, and systems. It aims to bring substantial reductions in environmental impact, energy and resource consumption into the urban residential condominium market without any significant cost increases. The Sustainable Condo website showcases the products and services used in the Condo and connects those products and services to the green building issues they help to solve. The Condo made its debut in 2004 at two Vancouver events: the Globe Trade Fair in March and the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE) in in August and September. The Condo was next showcased at the U.S. Green Building Council Council (USGBC) 2005 Greenbuild Conference in Atlanta. The following two years were busy for the exhibit, with a series of seven shows in the Toronto area; four in 2006 and three in 2007. These shows included IIDEX, International Home Show, Green Building Festival, Construct Canada, Realtor Quest, the Green Living Show and the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE). Due to popular demand, the display unit is continuing to be exhibited in Toronto. At the end of November 2007, the Sustainable Condo was launched as a part of the new green educational display at Toronto’s Exhibition Place, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) Eco Pods. Throughout 2008, the condo will be open for variousspecial events at Exhibition Place. Tours are also available – contact us for further information.
